for Outrun Cancer
Friday March 18, 2016 – Joining a marathon team is not something that would normally come to mind for some of the Whites Diesels’ colleagues, but after hearing what the cause was for Outrun Cancer it was a no brainer. Well prepared, the members of the Whites Warriors team turned up on Friday March 18 at Martin Place in Sydney CBD, ready to raise awareness and funds for important cancer prevention projects.
They were all really motivated to run hard on a treadmill for this special charity. They’ve raised in total $2,825. Rodney Hemaridis, one of the two founders of Whites Diesels Australia, is very proud of the team members. “The sense of achievement that our team felt was immense. We are proud to be involved in this great, well organized charity event”. According to the organization it was a record year: 5 locations – over 400 runners – 02:11:11 fastest marathon.
2 in 3 Australian men and 1 in 3 Australian women will be affected by cancer in their lifetime. Independent cancer organisations such as Cancer Council work across all aspects of cancer control – including funding research, promoting prevention and early detection, supporting those impacted by cancer and providing information to health practitioners. Outrun Cancer has partnered up with Cancer Council Australia in 2012 and they’ve made it their mission to raise funds for cancer prevention projects that can ultimately make a difference in people’s lives.
