Well attended

Monday May 30, 2016 – On May 28 the Bus SA Conference 2016 was held in Adelaide with the theme of “Moving people: unlocking SA’s mobility potential”. The Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Stephen Mullighan started the conference. Other speakers were Melbourne University’s Associate Professor Janet Stanley and University of South Australia’s Professor Joffre Swait.
Swait spoke about his research around households and how they chose modes of transport. “It’s an area that I think is really important. We need to understand why people do what they do,” says BusSA executive director Lauran Huefner.
As a BIC member we were present at the Bus SA Conference. “ The conference was well attended with close to 100 delegates from various industry related organisations. It was followed by an impressive and entertaining dinner ,” says Derryk McGuire, branch manager Tasmania and Victoria from Whites Diesels Australia.
During the conference people could also visit the Land Tourism Forum which highlighted the challenges and opportunities for tour and charter operators within the tourism sector.
