Trucks, trucks and more trucks
Think all things and everything truck. Believe it or not but that was basically the 2017 Brisbane Truck Show in a nutshell. Surprisingly there was just as much free coffee, as truck related things with baristas filling up stands, along with heaps of freebies and giveaways. As always there were a few stand out highlights and memorable events.
One highlight was The 2017 HVIA National Apprentice Challenge, three regional teams racing against one another, identifying and repairing faults on identical trucks. The winner who found and fixed all the faults the quickest was the Eastern region team.
Another memorable moment was the 2017 Brisbane Truck Show Awards. The very best in the industry took the stage, showcasing Australia’s truck standards.
“One thing is very clear; innovation is alive and well in the heavy vehicle industry,” HVIA Chief Executive Brett Wright said following the presentation of the awards.
For the first time blood pressure checks took place at the Whites Diesels stand, raising awareness of men’s health and supporting the PA Research Foundation’s Mandate campaign.
Last but not least the latest truck models were impressive as always. See the best trucks of 2017 for yourself and watch this video of Owner Driver technical editor Steve Brooks taking a tour around the big truck stands.
